Accomodations

Imagine... as the sun peaks over the mountains you walk across the pasture to feed your horse. Afterward, you head back to the camp for hearty breakfast with your fellow ranch hands; grab your boots, fully groom and tack your horse then head out for a morning ride.

Other days may entail a full morning of riding, and then stop back by the ranch to make a picnic lunch and head out to a local swimming hole for the afternoon. Refreshed and ready to go, you hop on your horse for a sunset trail ride.

When the dust settles and your horse is pastured for the night, the group gathers to tell stories of the day.

Driftwood Ranch Campers sleep in our new, state-of-the-art yurts. These innovative structures accommodate modern conveniences yet remain elegantly rustic. Each yurt can comfortably sleep 6 to 8 people and combines a beautiful wood frame with durable, electronically bonded architectural fabric to provide a comfortable and secure camp experience. More info available at www.pacificyurts.com.

During each three-week session, there will be at least one Horse Packing trip. Saddle up your horse, grab your lasso, pack your bedroll, fill your canteen and head out to dirt trails where you can relive the old west. Tie up your horses and then help prepare a gourmet meal over an open fire. As the sun sets, gather around the campfire as a group to share reflections of the day. After a quiet night under the stars, the group will awaken the next morning, feed and groom the horses, then ride through scenic trails. Learn and practice Leave-No-Trace principles out on the trail. After dinner, the horses will settle in for the night as the group enjoys S’mores by the fire.
